The frustration of browsing between different sources and platforms - not to mention after this hassle I still donβt know how much should I negotiate the salary - inspired me to create a global salary calculator. Glassdoor
Payscale

β¦ or users donβt do research at all.

Hypothesis β
What problems users might encounter?
Users might not know if the salary offer is reasonable after tax.
Users might not know if the salary offer they received is more or less than the average range
Users who are freelancers, or artists, might not know if their hourly rate is reasonable
β
What is the expectation from users?
Users might want to know if their salary is too low based on their working experience, and the industry.
Users might want to compare their salary with other people working in the same job position
Users might want to know whatβs a reasonable salary in another country
Users who are freelancers might want to know how much to charge hourly is reasonable
β
I created an online survey based on the hypothesis I have while using these salary calculators. I would like to test if this hypothesis is the right approach.
In the survey, 36% were Women, and 64% were Men from age 18 to 39 Β in 14 responses. In terms of the tool, 50% of them use glassdoor to do the salary research, and 15% of the participants use google or a local platform. Surprisingly, 35% of them don't research at all.
